The former Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose has opined that the silence of Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo about the level of Insecurity and corruption the country is worrisome.

He noted that his silence could be interpreted to mean that the former President is either tired, timid, afraid or no longer the Obasanjo that Nigerians used to know.

“Isn’t Obasanjo’s silence worrisome? It is either Baba is tired, timid, afraid or he is no longer the Obasanjo that we used to know.”

In a tweet on Saturday, July 25, Fayose wondered if Obasanjo will keep mute while the entire country is being looted away and Nigerians anywhere in the country can’t sleep with their two eyes closed.

According to Fayose, it was because of alleged corruption and insecurity in the country that Obasanjo teamed up with others to foist Buhari on Nigeria.

Earlier in another tweet, Fayose noted that Buhari needs to sack the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godwill Akpabio given the level of fraud exposed in the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.

Fayose emphasised that the President can’t continue to treat looting of public treasury as a family affair and his fight against corruption as an instrument of persecution against opposition figures.

He said the President will only be reinforcing the conclusion that he supports corruption by keeping in his govt the likes of Akpabio and the acting MD of the NDDC MD, Prof Pondei.
