Former Minister of Aviation in Nigeria, Chief Femi Fani Kayode has expressed the readiness to offer scholarships to three hundred Nigerian Students to study in a private University in Cotonou.
Fani Kayode, who is also a lawyer and politician said the gesture was in commemoration of his wife and sons birthday.
He announced this on his Twitter handle adding that the Private University recently awarded him an honorary doctorate.
“To commemorate the birthday of my wife and 3 sons I am offering a scholarship to 300 Nigerian students to Icon University in the Republic of Benin.
This is the top private university in Cotonou and they have just awarded me an honorary doctorate degree. I am deeply humbled.” he tweeted.
In another tweet, he said beneficiaries of the scholarship would be taken from the six geo-political zones in Nigeria.
Fani Kayode added that for the next two years, the school fees of the beneficiaries will be taken care of by a foundation owned by his wife.
“The interview will begin next week for those that are interested in winning one of the 300 scholarships that I am offering for the next semester at Icon University, Benin Republic.
The applicant will be taken from each of the 6 political zones.”
Fani Kayode who served as the Special Assistant to former President Olusegun Obasanjo had on May 25 celebrated his triplets and wife as they celebrate their birthday.
You will recall that his wife, Precious Chikwendu, welcomed the triplets on her birthday on May 25, 2018.
