A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani Kayode has reacted to report about how hoodlums attacked EndSARS protesters in some parts of the country, particularly in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, where some thugs set about 200 vehicles ablaze at Kabusa junction, Apo, Abuja.
In a tweet, the former Minister asked his followers on the platform if they still believe that President Buhari respects the rights of the protesters. He opined that there is no indication that the President is interested in the EndSARS campaign or in stopping police brutality.
Fani Kayode, who accused President Buhari of using thugs to disrupt the EndSARS protests said the next thing the President will do is to use the military.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, on Monday held a meeting with President Buhari over the ongoing protests against the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting, the Minister revealed that Buhari advised the youth to ensure that their protests are peaceful as he also expressed concerns about some instances in which the protests have turned violent.
According to Dare, President Buhari emphasised the need to ensure that the protesters are protected and any police officer that has in one way or the other attacked any protester be brought to book.
