The Special Aide On Mineral Resources and Environmental Management to the Ebonyi state governor, David Umahi has reportedly arrested a woman who has been con people out of their money by pretending to be blind.
Allegedly, it is usual practice for the women to apply methylated ointment on her eyes so she can tear up and keeps on eye shut while walking around town begging for alms with one of her children leading her. Whenever the effect of the balm wears off she would re-apply it.
Reports have it that the woman has a usual spot at Union Bank Junction, Abakiliki, Ebonyi where she stays to scam unsuspecting good samaritans of their money.
When the woman who is from Imo state was caught her eyes were forced open and they looked healthy.
