Ex-Senate President, Joseph Wayas, Passes on at 80

Former Senate President, Joseph Wayas of the second republic, has been confirmed dead in a London Hospital on Tuesday 30, 2021.

Wayas death, according to the Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade, is marked as a monumental loss to the state and Nigeria at large.

In a statement released by Christian Ita, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Ayade further described his passing as one that would leave “indelible footprints on the sands of time”.

He revealed that the entire state would remember and mourn an illustrious son of the soil, adding that the passing of t=such a rare gem in a time like this means the Cross River has recorded an enormous loss.

Ayade Eulogises Late Former Senate President

Ayade spoke about the achievements of the late President of the Senate, his leadership skills, among other cherish-able attributes.

“And since his retirement from active politics, JosephWayas had been playing a fatherly and stabilising role in the politics and affairs of our state.” The Cross River State Governor added.
