Euro2020 qualifier continues and EverySport will take you around the major games of the matchday seven of Euro2020 Qualifier. The matchday seven games start with Belgium taking on San Marino in Group I, while Netherland will be playing Northern Ireland in Group C. The Israelites will be traveling to Austria in Group G. Latvia battle Poland for their first win in Group G, and Croatia plays host to Hungary in Group E.
Belgium vs San Marino
Belgium has been unbeaten in their Euro2020 qualifiers and is aiming to keep their 100% record when they play San Marino this evening. The Belgians thrashed the minnows 4-0 in their home ground (Stadio Olimpico di Serravalle). Belgium is seen as the best favorites to win the upcoming Euro2020 tournament.
Roberto Martinez is likely to mix his team against San Marino but however it the mixture will be, we are positive that the hosts will extend their winning run in Group I. The last time they met in Brussels, it ended 8-0 in favor of Belgium. On the other hand, Franco Varrella’s side has lost its last six games. It will be hard for the San Marino side to turn things around playing against Belgium.
Netherland vs Northern Ireland
The back-to-back win over Germany and Estonia has added confidence to the Flying Dutchmen team. Today they will be playing Northern Ireland with the hope of getting a place at the 2020 European Championship come 2020. The Orange has only lost once in the qualifier run and is placed third in the table three points behind Northern Ireland. Their top goal scorer Memphis Depay, has found the back of the net four times is ready to score more.
The Green and White Army, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from a 2-0 loss to Germany, but given the Netherlands’ fine form, they can’t beat Netherland. The last time they met in 2012 it ended 6-0 in favor of the Dutchmen. We believe even if the goals won’t be that many the home side will win.
Austria vs Israel
Austria recorded three consecutive wins in Group G and played out a goalless draw with Poland in their last qualifier. The Austrians will be looking to extend their clean sheet record and climb to the second position in Group G.
The Blue and White men are desperately in need of a win, they have only won two of their last six games. Austrian attacking duo David Alaba and Marko Arnautovic are likely to lead Franco Foda’s troops to yet another triumph. Their last meeting ended 4-2 in favor of the Israelites, so this could be a revenge mission for the Austrians.
Latvia vs Poland
Latvia remains in the bottom with no point in Group G, they will be fighting for a first win in the Euro2020 campaign when they play first place Poland on Thursday evening. With the team suffering a loss in each of their six group games.
The Latvians have conceded 21 goals in their last six games, the former Soviet Republic aims to put an end to the negative trend. But ending this will start by beating Poland which looks more like an impossible task. The Poles are sitting in top position in Group G, with two points above second-placed Slovenia. Robert Lewandowski and Co. have been scoring goals since the beginning of the campaign and he is one to bank on to give his side an away win.
Croatia vs Hungary
Croatia surprisingly shared points with Azerbaijan, who is yet to win any match in the Euro2020 qualifying campaign. The Blazers will be looking to return to winning ways in Group E as they play Hungary at Stadion Poljud in Split this evening. Key players Ivan Rakitic and Luka Modric are both fit for the match tonight which is good news for the Croatian team.
The Magyars will be looking to come back from their last home loss to Slovakia last month. The game will be an interesting one with goals, both sides are looking hungry for the win so it won’t be bad to say the goals will be more than two (over 2.5).
