Denmark’s Euro 2020 match against Finland has been postponed after former Tottenham Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch. The Group B game was immediately suspended due to the incident. The 29-year-old Inter Milan player maker fell to the ground in the first half of the game.

The referee Anthony Taylor immediately called for medical support, and the player was taken out of the field for treatment. According to the report, Christian Eriksen has wakened up, and he can speak, and he is currently receiving further examination, but his breath is fine.

Christian Eriksen received CPR before the game was cancelled, and the players departed the field. Uefa said the match could not go on, and so they suspended the game because of a medical emergency. According to Uefa, they said they had held an emergency medical emergency meeting regarding the player, and they have concluded the match will be postponed, and further information will be communicated at 19:45 CET [18:45 BST].

“The player has been transferred to the hospital and has been stabilised.” The player’s agent Martin Schoots said he has communicated with the player and is now fine but will be further examined to know what really happened.
