The Lagos state police commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu, has released the #EndSARSMemorial protesters and apologised.

Recall that following the first anniversary of the EndSARS protest, Nigerian youths took to the streets to protest, which resulted in some, including a journalist in Lagos state.

Regarding this, the police commissioner went over to the van where the arrested ones were locked in, requesting they identify themselves. He, however, released those who identified themselves and left the others.

He further stated that there would be an investigation on those still locked up and being transported to the police station but would be released once proven they are not a threat.

Hakeem Odumosu also apologised to those who were harassed and arrested wrongly during the peaceful protest today.

He said, “that was done by judases among us. By ignorant officers. This uniform I am wearing, you paid for it.”

Teargas was used to disperse the protesters at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos state. However, Nigerian youths still share their untold stories regarding the End sars brutality on the social media platform.
