The Nigeria Immigration Service on Monday prevented Modupe Odele, one of the foremost promoters and mobilizers of the #EndSARS movement and protests, from travelling.

She, however, has been released and she took to her Twitter handle to announce that she is fine. She also promised further updates and urged against the spread of fake news.

Moe@Mochievous “Hello everyone. Thank you so much. I’m fine and I’m safe. We haven’t confirmed yet why I was stopped on Sunday or by whom. But I’ve been invited back in with my lawyers today. I’ll update when I have more information but please don’t spread false news. That is dangerous.”

Meanwhile, former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili has been vocal in her efforts to ensure that Modupe Odele’s passport is retrieved. She is also loudly calling for the protection of the rights of citizens.

She said in her tweet,

“Today, I have written to Babagana MUNGONO, the National Security Adviser of @MBuhari@NGRPresident to immediately retrieve @Mochievous Modupe Odele’s passport from the SSS and publicly apologize for trampling on her freedoms. Maybe they’ll be wise this time. We’ll wait and see.”
