Nigerian lawmaker, Hon, Adejoro Adeogun has highlighted one of the reasons why Nigerians should appreciate the All Progressives Congress, APC in the area of electoral conducts.

The lawmaker, who is representing Akoko South East/South West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives during an exclusive interview with Everyevery.ng opined that Nigerians should thank the APC for giving room for keenly contested elections.

According to Hon. Adejoro, the electoral acts says if someone is leading by a certain number of votes and the number of areas not counted have more votes than the figure of the candidate that is leading, you can’t deny the other persons the right to vote.

“I remember a scenario in Ondo South where the Senatorial elections were inconclusive, the person who was leading still won, the reason been that there were people who should not be denied their rights.”

He further explained that what the APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has done in the past years as regards cases of inconclusive elections is that they don’t want to deny anybody the right to vote.

Speaking on the level of confidence he has in the INEC, the lawmaker stated that it is more about the people not accepting defeat and not majorly about the electoral umpire.

Meanwhile, Hon. Adeogun said that he has been able to deliver some of the campaign promises he made to his constituents by giving them a voice and national recognition.

Also, he added that he prioritises tackling youth unemployment by providing empowerment through skill training, funding, grants among others to grow the local economy.
