El-Rufai's Wife Demands Stiffer Punishment for Rapists Sexual Offenders
Wife to Kaduna State Governor, Aisha-Ummi Garba El-Rufai publicly demands tougher and stiffer punishments for rapists and sexual offenders in the state and Nigeria at large. She encouraged everyone to pay extra attention to rape issues as it is on the increase in our society. in her opinion, until the laws on the legal punishment for rape is amended, rapists and sexual offenders will get away without serious consequences.
Aisha also added that there needs to be a voracious advocacy and movement in all parts of Nigeria for the adoption of extreme harsh laws like execution for rapists. She also noted that the possibility of getting the needed number of law makers to approve so might slow down the process.
However, she appealed to the father and parent in all stakeholders to add their influence and support against rape and help protect children and women especially from sex crimes.
She ended by calling for the support of anyone who can help to assist in this fight against sexual violence until results are gotten.
