Governor Nasir El-Rufai has accused some clerics of instigating violence in Kaduna State noting that they use their platforms to preach disunity in the state.
He added that a critical study of the situation for over four decades shows that the main drivers of the violence are a few clerics that use their platforms to preach disunity instead of preaching peaceful co-existence.
According to him, some clerics use their platforms and revered positions to divide and incite violence.
While playing host to the Primate of Anglican Church, Henry Ndukuba at the state’s Government House, the governor insisted that his administration has been able to contain violence at its point of origin.
He further stated that one credit that his government gets from everyone, including adversaries has been the ability to contain the outbreaks in the state.
Also, the governor disclosed that his administration is doing the best it can to find a solution to the violence in Kaduna.
El-Rufai said he was sad to hear from the primate that his house was burnt down in Wusasa, Zaria in 1987.
You will recall that some gunmen believed to be Fulani herdsmen recently invaded communities in Southern Kaduna and killed over 20 people injuring several others.
