EFCC Urges Nigerians To Expose Corrupt Practices

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has reiterated commitment to waging war against corruption in the country despite the recent developments in the commission.

In a statement signed by its Head, Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the commission revealed that normal activities and operations are running smoothly in all its Zonal Offices across the country and its Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.

According to the statement, the Commission is deeply committed to the anti-corruption agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari.

It further enjoined Nigerians to continue to shun and expose corrupt practices anywhere, anytime.

However, the commission admitted that the latest developments in the EFCC and the subsisting COVID-19 protocols have necessitated a scaling down of activities.

Meanwhile, it emphasised that visitors on invitation by the Commission are not affected by the development and COVID-19 protocols.

Oyewale added that the EFCC is on course and its values remain sound and robust.

You will recall that President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mohammed Umar as the new acting Chairman of the EFCC.

Umar, who was EFCC’s Director of Operations before his appointment was asked to take charge and oversee the operations and activities of the anti-corruption agency pending the conclusion of the ongoing investigation on the allegations levelled against Ibrahim Magu.

The appointment was contained in a statement signed by the Special Assistant Media and Public Relations to the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister for Justice, Dr Umar Gwandu.
