EFCC Chairman, Bawa Makes Fresh Vow

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa, has revealed that the anti-graft agency would fight Corruption with Rule of Law- Bawa.

Bawa, who reiterated the Commission’s commitment to fighting corruption within the law’s ambits, said the only thing that made EFCC unique is adherence to the rule of law.

He said the Commission allows the law to take its cause by applying civility and charging anyone accused of being corrupt to court to face the law.

Meanwhile, Bawa charged the EFCC staff to adhere to the Commission’s core values, including professionalism, integrity, and courage, in the discharge of their duties.

According to him, the EFCC was established based on the principle of courage, professionalism and integrity.

Bawa, who said his appointment as chairman should inspire young officers to aim for greatness, also called the staff to shun indiscipline and corruption.

On the issue of reforming the Commission, the EFCC boss disclosed that he had set up committees to look at the digitalization of the Commission’s database, Standard Operations Procedure, Staff welfare, among others.

However, Bawa assured that the Commission under his watch would be proactive in fighting corruption.
