Edo Elections: Obaseki Lands In Fresh Certificate Scandal
Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has warned Politicians who are planning to foment trouble in the state to have a rethink or expect trouble in return.
In an interview, Obaseki, who is also the governorship flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP reiterated the readiness to arrest anyone finds causing trouble in the state.
The governor said, “Nobody has a monopoly of violence, if they want violence, we would show them violence, if you see anybody smashing any car because my sticker or poster is on the car let us know and we will show that person that we are in Government.”
Obaseki further added that himself and his Deputy, Philip Shuaibu is the only one who enjoys immunity in the state.
“I am governor, Philip is Deputy Governor, we are the only two who have immunity in this state and I am sending a very clear warning, if I find anybody misbehaving, no matter who you are, I will arrest you and deal with you.”
However, he accused the All Progressives Congress, APC of not campaigning about what the party can do adding that they decided to engage in propaganda, lies and violence because it is glaring that the APC would lose during the Edo 2020 elections.
