Don Jazzy Salutes Health Workers

Famous Nigerian music Producer, Don Jazzy has reacted to the news about forty health workers that tested positive to Coronavirus in Nigeria.

Health workers have been at the frontline of waging war against the Coronavirus pandemic, which has posed a global health challenge to different countries around the world.

In a post on his Twitter handle, the artiste who posted a photo to describe health workers as Heroes also salutes their courage as he further described them as selfless.

The tweet reads “The report of 40+ health workers being positive for COVID-19 is saddening.

For their selfless service to humanity, bravery and courage at the forefront of this pandemic struggle, I say “thank you” to them and hope they get well soon. #healthworkersappreciation.

Earlier, Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, has said that about 40 health workers have tested positive for Coronavirus in the country.

Giving updates on Thursday during the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 briefing, the minister urged frontline workers always to protect themselves when treating patients.

He said, “I applaud all our health workers in the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic and the government will continue to provide you with the necessary protective equipment.

“I urge you all to take all the necessary precautions for your own safety; please do not try to treat patients without using adequate PPE.

“Frontline workers must undertake refresher courses training in IPC at intervals. This advice is necessary due to the number of health workers who have tested positive – they are over 40 now.

According to the Nigeria centre Disease Control, NCDC, the country has recorded over 873 cases of Coronavirus with 28 deaths as of April 22nd.
