The former Lawmaker, who represented Kogi West senatorial district during the 8th National Assembly, said he did not ask people to stop posting a photo of him and Hushpuppi, adding that sharing the picture does not bother him as a political celebrity.

“There was never a time l ask people not to post my pictures with Hushpuppi or anyone for that matter because there is no reason to. Am a political celebrity; please continue posting jare. Wetin bird chop na im e go carry fly. SDM”

Earlier, many internet users had queried the relationship between Dino Melaye and Hushpuppi before his arrest because of the picture showing them.

Also, a former Presidential spokesman, Reno Omokri, had posted a picture of a suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari and famous socialite, Obi Cubana. He made the post on Instagram a few days after the FBI reportedly mentioned kyari’s name as part of the people Hushpuppi transferred money to their bank accounts.

You will recall that the Police Service Commission had hinted at the possibilities of sacking Kyari. Austin Braimoh, the spokesperson for the Commission, disclosed the punishment police officers could face if found guilty of wrongdoings.

According to Braimoh, an outright dismissal is one of the penalties that the police authorities could impose on Kyari if he is found guilty of the allegations against him.

Braimoh added that the punishment for police officers who have committed infractions includes a warning, reprimand, severe reprimand, reduction in rank, and outright dismissal.

Meanwhile, he noted that it would be wrong to conclude that DCP Kyari is guilty of allegations against him without a thorough investigation.

He opined that Kyari’s indictment by the US court needs to be subjected to the Nigerian laws first to verify if the police officer is guilty of the allegations against him.

You will recall that the police authorities recently suspended Kyari following his indictment by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, for his alleged role in the $1.1million fraud by Ramon Abass, also known as Hushipuppi.
