Deputy Governor of Lagos loses his step brother

Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, Deputy Governor of Lagos, has just suffered the loss of Dr. Haroun Hamzat, his stepbrother.

The cause of death was yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.

His demise was announced on Tuesday, 5 January, 2021 by the Lagos State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA.

Dr Haroun Hamzat was a young medical doctor who who worked in one of the public health centres in Orile Agege Local Council Development Area, LCDA.

He died at the age of 37.

Further investigations from Orile Agege LCDA reveal that the young doctor may have died from complications arising from Covid-19 infection.

At the time of filing this report, there had been no confirmation from the deputy governor.

An aide of the deputy governor was contacted and choosing to speak in confidence, said, “Family yet to speak, but i am yet to confirm the report.”

In the statement by the Lagos State chapter of the NMA, the institution mourned the loss of the young doctor and commiserated with his family.
