Delta State: Centre LSD Harps on Accountability, Transparency in Governance

The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy & Development (Centre LSD) in furtherance of its project “Promoting Transparency and Accountability in the governance process through the Implementation of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) in Nigeria” with the support of the MacArthur Foundation, commenced mentoring support for Delta States OGP Administrators.

A statement released by the Programme Coordinator of Centre LSD, Mr. Lawal Amodu, stated that the two-day event will offer opportunities to hear state-specific progress reports and concerns and provide a guide where necessary to advance the implementation of the Partnership principles in the state.

Delta State is one of the twenty-five states that have signed up to the OGP and is determined to move forward with its commitment to enthroning transparency and accountability and citizens’ participation in the governance processes.

The event will feature a presentation on Open Government Partnership, pep talks on keys to organizational effectiveness, dwell on issues, and challenges in the operationalization of the State Action Plan (SAP) and chart the way forward.
