Manchester City stars Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden have won the English Premier League awards for the year 2021/2022 end of the season.
The Belgian has been voted the 2021/22 EA SPORTS Player of the Season for the second time since he first won it in the 2019/2020 season.
30-year-old De Bruyne has been pivotal in the ‘Cityzens’ quest for their sixth Premier League title, scoring 15 goals and providing seven assists in only 29 appearances.
Reacting to the award, De Bruyne said, “To win this award for a second time is an achievement that I am really proud of.
“There is so much quality in the Premier League and it is a pleasure to be nominated with so many other great players who have had incredible seasons for their clubs.
“Thank you to all of the staff, coaches and especially my teammates because without them this wouldn’t be possible.”
Another player from the blue side of Manchester, Phil Foden, has been named the 2021/22 Hublot Young Player of the Season.
The 21-year-old was voted the best among his age group 23 years and below, retaining the award for the second consecutive season.
Phil Foden has scored nine goals and assisted 5 in 27 appearances as Manchester City closes in on the Premier League title.
Pep Guardiola’s side will look to end the season on a high against Aston Villa on Sunday, as a win guarantees them the Premier League trophy.
