According to reports that have emerged on Tuesday, Austria defender David Alaba will join Real Madrid at the end of the season on a free transfer when his Bayern Munich contract expires.
Sky claim that the 28-year-old, who has won the Champions League twice with Bayern, will sign a five-year deal with Real Madrid after spending 13 years in Munich.
Alaba played in Tuesday’s 2-0 home win against Leverkusen, which saw Bayern Munich move 10 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga.
Bayern is on the verge of being crowned Bundesliga champions for the ninth consecutive season and could wrap up the title when they travel to Mainz on Saturday.
Alaba is close to winning his 10th Bundesliga title with the champions of the world, and in his service to the club for over a decade, he has made 428 appearances in all competitions.
