Cristiano Ronaldo: The Football Goal Machine

It was a night to remember for Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro as he scored his 700th career goal. The goal came in the second half of the game. He now joins the league goal machines football has ever known. Cristiano Ronaldo has played 974 games in total out of which has scored 700 goals.

The Portuguese dropped out of school following his expulsion after throwing a chair to a teacher for insulting his mum. At the age of 14, Cristiano Ronaldo was diagnosed with a Racing Heart condition, which threatened his life.  Ronaldo did a heart surgery which corrected the condition altering his resting heart rate.

Sporting CP Where it All Started From.

Ronaldo started his career in Sporting CP at the age of 16 in the youth team. He was promoted to the senior team by the then senior team coach (Laszlo Boloni). Cristiano Ronaldo scored 5 goals in his 31 appearances for the Sporting CP senior team. He was noticed by many clubs including Liverpool, Barcelona, and Arsenal.

His Career with Manchester United

Manchester United picked interest in him after an impressive performance against the giants in a champions League that ended 3-1. United planed on signing him and then loan him back to Sporting CP, but the team decided to keep him. He was bought for £12.24 million, the teenager requested the 28 which he won in Sporting. He however not given the number 7 jersey which was won by George Best, Eric Cantona, and David Beckham

Ronaldo became the first Portuguese to play for the Northwest London side Manchester United. Cristiano Ronaldo made his debut on the 16 of August 2003 in a 4-0 win over Bolton Wanderers. He opened his scoring record with a freekick against Portsmouth in a 3-0 win on the  1st of November 2003. Cristiano Ronaldo gradually became a household name as his performance never dropped.

Ballon d’Or Winner

Cristiano Ronaldo won his first Champions League in 2007 with Manchester United. He subsequently became United’s first Ballon d’Or winner since George Best. Ronaldo became the first Premier League player to be named the FIFA World Player of the Year.

His match-winning goal in the second leg against FC Porto, a 40yard strike, earned him the FIFA Puskas Award. (Best goal of the best goal of the year).

His Career at Real Madrid career

Ronaldo joined Spanish giants Real Madrid in 2009 for a record fee of £80 million (€94 million). He made his debut on the 29th of August and scored from the penalty spot against Deportivo La Coruna. CR7 won both the La Liga and the Ballon d’Or back-to-back.

The Portuguese is the all-time highest goal scorer in Real Madrid. He has also scored more hattricks than any other Madrid player in history. Ronaldo scored 11 goals in one month which very few players have ever done. Ronaldo won four Champions League with Real Madrid making it five champions League in all his career.

CR7 Juventus Career

Ronaldo signed a four-year contract with Italian club Juventus for a record signing of €100 million (10 July 2018). He became the first player to be signed with such amount at age 30 or above by an Italian club. Ronaldo scored his goal for the Old Lady side on the 26th of September 2018 against Sassuolo. Ronaldo won the series A player of the year and also the Serie A title with Juventus

At age 22 Ronaldo captained his national team based on the instruction of the Portuguese Football Federation president, Carlos Silva. Ronaldo scored seven goals in the qualification for Euro 2020, including two strikes against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the play-offs.

Portugal won the last group stage game against the Netherlands, he scored twice to secure a 21 victory. He also scored a header in the quarter-final against the Czech Republic to give his team a 1–0 win.

 Ronaldo won the Man Of the Match In both the game against the Netherlands and the Czech Republic. After the semi-finals against Spain ended scoreless, with Ronaldo having sent three shots over the bar. They lost in the penalty shootout.

Ronaldo has scored, 444 goals with his right foot, 126 with his left foot, 128 with his head, and 2 goals with his chest.  He scored 5 goals in Sporting CP in 31 league games, 118 goals for Manchester United in 292 games. 450 goals for Real Madrid in  438 games, 32 goals in 51 Seria A appearances and 95 goals for his country.

Ronaldo becomes the sixth top scorer in the history of world football. Only five players are ahead of him. Josef Biscan of Austrian is top of the chart with 805 goals. Pele has 779 while Romario has 748 in the third place. The fourth player is Ferenc Puskas with 709 goals and Gerd Muller with 701 goals.

Records Look For Me

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner said he is not obsessed with breaking records. I don’t look for records, records look for me they just happen naturally. He said this after scoring the 700th career goal against Ukraine in their 2-1 loss in Kyiv. “I am disappointed that we don’t win but I am proud of the team” he added.
