The COVID-19 Vaccine deadline for civil servants has been set for December 1st, failure to take the vaccine, resulting in an inability to go to workplaces.
In a National briefing held on Wednesday, October 13th 2021, Boss Mustapha, the Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19 and the Secretary to the Federation of the Federation (SGF), stated various points in the briefing.
A significant point for the briefing was that civil servants would have to show evidence of the COVID-19 vaccination to work or show negative COVID-19 test results to gain access to their offices.

In the results of the emergency meeting held before the briefing, the SGF revealed points of the discussion where the Federal Government removed countries like South Africa, Brazil and Turkey, from countries that were put on travel restriction into the country as a result of the pandemic.
The Chairman equally praised the United Kingdom’s decision in allowing fully vaccinated travellers from Nigeria to enter the country fully without the primary prerequisite of self-isolation. This decision was effective from October 11th.
After reminding Nigerians of the upcoming celebrations – Sallah and Christmas- the SGF highlighted the possibility of increased travel into and out of the country and monumental gatherings.
He finally affirmed that the FG would review Nigeria’s protocols to align with global best practices. He assured Nigerians that there would be an increase in surveillance and urged civilians to be security conscious.
