Wolverhampton winger Adama Traore has been ruled out of Spain’s squad ahead of their double UEFA Nations League clash and will also miss Wolves’ Premier League opening fixture as he has tested positive for coronavirus. The player is the most recent player in the English Premier League to have contracted the infection and now he will be forced to withdraw from joining his team-mates.
The 24-year-old will not be representing his country due to the infection which means his first-ever international call up will be next time. This could be good news for Mali they are waiting to give the player a call up ahead of Spain. Spanish outlet Marca is reporting that the player was not allowed to fly to join the Spanish squad as UEFA’s strict guidelines against the spread of the pandemic remain in place.
However, reports say if the player tests negative by Tuesday, September 1, he will be allowed to join his team-mates ahead of their Nations League cracker. They are still waiting for the result but for the main time, Adama Traore will have to remain in the self-isolation place until the result is finally negative.
