COVID-19: Indian Man Wears $4000 Gold Face Mask

As countries around the world battles Coronavirus, COVID-19 pandemic, a forty-eight-year-old Indian man, Shankar Kurhade has posted a photo of himself wearing a $4,000 worth of nose mask.

The man, who lives in Pune, India claimed that the mask weighs 50 grams and costs around $3870. 

Kurhade expressed confidence that the mask alongside other protective measures, can help keep him safe from contracting the disease noting that it helps him to breathe.

Kurhade is fond of gold necklaces, bracelets and rings and his recent addition of the gold face mask has made him a popular sight in his neighbourhood.

Meanwhile, data from Johns Hopkins University shows that India has reported over 600,000 COVID-19 infections and 18,655 deaths.

A face mask is one of the items that has become a necessity as it helps people avoid contracting the disease.

Most countries around the world have mandated the wearing of face masks in a bid to curb further spread of COVID-19.
