COVID-19: Find Out When Nigeria Schools Will Reopen
For over two months, all schools and religious places in Nigeria were closed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Well, with the lifting of the ban on religious gatherings and activities after eight weeks, the federal government insists that schools will only reopen when the risk of the virus has been reduces adequately.
“The Minister for Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire confirmed that schools will only reopen when the government is able to ensure balance in safety and preventing of COVID-19 explosion across the country. “
The minister said this while delivering the 100th-day brief on the fight against COVID-19 by the Presidential task Force in Abuja. In conclusion, no date has been fixed for reopening of schools at the moment until all criteria for reopening are satisfied.
However, he reassured Nigerians of the commitment of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 to continue monitoring the situation every two weeks and four weeks. This is to assess the level of the situation and the safety of Nigerians in this season.
He advised schools to embrace online education as much as possible for the time being.
