The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force and Secretary to the Federal Government, Boss Mustapha has called on Nigerians to take the fight against COVID-19 seriously. Boss Mustapha emphasised that the spread of the virus and surviving it can only happen if we all take personal responsibility as individuals in our various rights. He added that individually, everyone has to decide to adhere to the precautionary guidelines given.
Mustapha called Nigerians “last liners” in the fight against the coronavirus adding that unless we take serious measures as individuals, the number of cases and casualties will continue to increase.
The PTF Chairman explained that the decision to lift the lockdown order does not mean that the virus has disappeared. The decision was mainly to balance the means of livelihood. He added that the lifting of the lockdown order is not a licence to carelessness. He maintained that nobody should believe that Nigeria has reached its peak of the pandemic.
While addressing the decision of the PTF on interstate travel, Boss Mustapha maintained that the ban on interstate travel remains in place. He urged the police and all law enforcement bodies to ensure they enforce this order strictly.
