Covenant University, a private Christian institution of learning in Nigeria, has debunked the claim of sexual harassment of students by some staff of the University.
On Monday, the institution trended on social media for the wrong reasons after several handles called out the molestation going on in the school.
The handle @_.otitoo tagged some celebrities and social media influencers with the caption, “CU girls are being raped and nothing is being done about it.”
In a recent development, the Media Office of the institution, in a recent chat with a media house, described the social media posts as false and the work of a mischievous person.
The media house stated that the post was a surprise as no student has made any formal complaint related to the alleged incident.
“It’s not true. It is a very false tweet or whatever it was. The person behind it must be mischievous,” they stated.
Covenant University, located in Ota, Ogun State, is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, Association of African Universities, and National Universities Commission and is affiliated with Living Faith Church Worldwide.
