Yobe Desert Stars players and crew of the Yobe Desert Stars will now earn only 25% of their salaries and allowances, according to report reaching Everyeveryng

Nigeria National League, (NNL) team is currently groaning in pains after the news that the salaries of the players and coaching crew will be cut by 75% after a meeting by the Club’s Management Committee was broken to them.

However, a statement Chairman of the Committee Goni Lawan, the decision to slash the salaries of the players and coaching crew by 75% was reached on Friday after a meeting by the Club’s Management Committee.

According the resolution of the committee signed by its chairman, Hon. Goni Bukar Lawan, only the Feeder and Under 15 teams would receive 50% of their monthly allowances.

The resolution did not mention if the players of the club were involved in the meeting aimed at reducing their salary.

According to the statement, the decision was taken beacuse the Coronavirus pandemic ravaging the world has taken its toll on the club too.

Yobe Desert Stars’ Pay Cut Notice

“The Management Committee of Yobe Desert Stars at the end its meeting today (Friday), April 3rd,2020 looking at the global pandemic of COVID-19, and the world economic meld (sic) down, resolved on the following measures:

Players and technical crew of the main team to recieve 25% of their monthly allowances while feeder and U-15 teams with (sic) receive 50% of their monthly allowanceWith these development, the management regret any inconvenience these reduction may cause and expect maximum cooperation and understanding.”

It would be recalled that Yobe Desert Stars were relegated to the NNL, last season after failing to beat the drop.
