Coronavirus: Four doctors test positive in Bauchi

Executive Chairman of the Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency (BASPHCDA), Dr. Rilwan Mohammed has on Wednesday disclosed that four doctors tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the state.

Dr Rilwan made the disclosure while giving a situation update during a news conference at the Government House, Bauchi, the state capital, on Wednesday.

He said: “So many doctors and nurses are getting infected in that area and their families are also infected and we have to follow their families up.

“The health workers who have tested positive include four doctors, six other health workers, including some nurses. Some of them are in Bauchi while some are in Azare but we have a higher number of them in the Azare zone.”

It could be recalled that Kano State Government had on Wednesday via its Twitter handle disclosed that 32 health workers in various hospitals across the state have tested positive for the coronavirus.

On the 6th of May 2020, 195 new confirmed cases and 5 deaths were recorded in Nigeria. No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.

Till date, 3145 cases have been confirmed, 534 cases have been discharged and 103 deaths have been recorded in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The 195 new cases are reported from 13 states- Lagos(82), Kano(30), Zamfara(19), Sokoto( 18), Borno(10), FCT(9), Oyo(8), Kebbi (5), Gombe(5), Ogun(4), Katsina(3), Kaduna(1), Adamawa(1).
