Copa del Rey last 16 round continues today with Barcelona hosting Leganes in the Camp Nuo. Barcelona who recently sacked their manager will be hoping to make amends from their last La Liga lost to Valencia. They will be hoping to get back to the winning way as they face struggling Real Madrid neighbors Leganes.
In the other game of the day, Sevilla will be playing away from home. They will travel to face second division side Mirandes with the hope of picking all three points from the encounter. As usual we will be giving analysis based on their current form and past head to head record before making possible predictions.
Copa del Rey last 16 Games for today with Predictions
Barcelona vs Leganes
Barcelona will be looking to bounce back from their 2-0 loss to Valencia when they host Leganes on Thursday. It is going to be at their Camp Nou in the Copa del Rey last 16. The Catalan giants have only registered their first lost under new boss Quique Setien, but the team seems not happy with the result. Another thing to worry about is the absence of Uruguay international Luis Suarez due to injury. His absence (injury) is said to be the main reason for the team’s poor form. Barca are eager to get back to winning ways, and we predict that they will go all guns blazing at Leganes in the Copa del Rey showdown.
As always, a man to watch in the home team will be Argentine International Leo Messi, who has been in top form this season. He missed a couple of clear-cut opportunities in their last game and we are sure he will want to want make amends to get his fans back shouting his name. The capital club, on the other hand, are fighting hard to avoid relegation to the Segunda Division. Mexican tactician Javier Aguirre is unlikely to field the best possible side against Leo Messi and Co. Nigerian International Kenneth Omerou and Chidozie Awaziem will be out to defend against the Catalans.
Mirandes vs Sevilla
A place in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals will be at stake when Mirandes and Sevilla face each other at Estadio Municipal de Anduva. Mirandes have defeated the likes of Coruxo, UCAM Murcia, and Celta Vigo on their way to the last 16, and so should be a team for the Sevilla to worry about. Sevilla are likely to pose a much bigger threat for the hosts than their previous rivals we believe.
Los Sevillanos, on the other hand, recorded a routine 2-0 win over Granada in the Andalusian derby at the weekend. They moved a step closer to booking their place in the Champions League. Anyhow, Sevilla are more of a team than Mirandes, and we predict that the in-form visitors are going to prove their worth on the field. Luuk de Jong, who scored a beautiful goal against Granada, will be the man to watch in the away team.
