Technology continues to change the way humans live and has simplified our daily lives. More importantly, educational institutions such as schools and colleges should not be exceptions when it comes to reaping benefits from technology. Teachers can use technology in the classroom to make teaching and learning more effective.

Four ways to use educate with technology

  1. Firstly, show videos to explain a process. Many online video platforms exist where millions of videos from almost everything under the sun is available. It is not difficult to find a demonstration video on how things work. Moreover, students understand and remember things that they see in action rather than just hearing about it. In addition, this helps your students to get a precise idea of any theory you explain and can make your life easier, for example, math tutors can pull up videos to help students visualize complicated problems step by step.
  2. Class Website: You can create a website or a webpage for your class and share the address with your students. You can add photos of your class, important notifications, announcements and even downloadable study materials. Create a blog on your site and your students can comment or post a query on it. This helps you stay connected with your students even after class hours. You can even post homework and assignments on the website that your students can complete from anywhere.
  3. Also, when discussing a popular place use tools like Google Earth and Maps. Using street view you can virtually travel through any street, a zoo or even a museum some thousands of miles away. This gives your students a better understanding of a place and they can easily come up with their own better explanation. You can even use VR to curate unique experiences.
  4. Collect Feedback from Students: You can easily create polls and surveys using various freely and easily available online platforms. Your students can participate in those surveys and polls and leave their feedback on the topic you are discussing. This gives you an idea about each student’s ability to understand you as a teacher. you can work towards changing your teaching techniques based on the feedback you receive. This helps in building a better student-teacher relationship too.
