Chu Okongwu, a former Finance Minister, has passed on at the age of eighty-seven (87) and details about his death is still scanty at the moment.
It was gathered that the ex-Minister of Finance died on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, and was born to this world on September 23, 1934, in Anambra State, Nigeria.
According to the report that disseminated the news of his death, Okongwu is the first of eight children, all from the same parents.
It was also learned that he attended St. Michael’s School, Aba, between 1941 and 1946, from which he moved to Government College, Umuahia, Abia State, and was a student there from 1947 till 1951.
The public servant reportedly studied economic theory at Boston University, where he also completed the degree in 1961.
In 1961 up until 1965, the ex-Minister was said to have studied at Harvard University and served for eight years under the administration of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, IBB, former military Head of State.
