Nigeria Novelist, Chimamanda Adichie
Nigerian Novelist Chimamanda Adichie, recently had an outburst about her nation Nigeria and expressed her feelings towards the United States of America.
Chimamanda, in her recent interview with TheAfricaReport, said she has decided to be an American citizen after her horrible experience in Nigeria.
The lady who had earlier refused the American passport said she had changed her mind about that after her father was kidnapped in 2015 and only got help from the American embassy in Lagos and not from the Nigerian government.
According to her, despite the fact that it is hard to travel out of the country a Nigerian, she is still proud to be a Nigerian, an African and an Igbo lady.
Chimamanda who have travelled around the world, impressing with her writing skills stressed during her interview that she is not making waves as an ambassador of Nigeria, but she is doing so representing herself because there are several things she dislikes about her country.
She also remembered how much the US cared about her father after the country helped secure his release by sending him a therapist who helped him recover from the trauma he experienced in the hands of his kidnappers.
Though the Novelist said she is still delaying the processes of becoming an American, you might be getting to know that she has dumped Nigeria for the US soon.
