Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich may end up selling the club with offers set to come in by the end of this week. Three investors are rumored to be interested in buying the club already. Abramovich relinquished the “stewardship and care” of Chelsea to the trustees of the club’s charitable organization on Saturday following the restrictions and ban he got from the United Kingdom.
The Russian billionaire handed over to trustees to dissociate himself from the club. However, the trustees have not accepted his proposal with some contemplating resignation. Reports have it that prospective buyers of Chelsea believe the first step would be Abramovich revealing that he is willing to sell before they can come in completely.
Chelsea always claims that the club is not for sale but Roman Abramovich may be left with no choice but to sell it. Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel was asked about the claim in a press conference ahead of Wednesday’s Emirates FA Cup clash against Luton Town.
The German said: “I have to say that’s a bit too much for me to answer.” He also said: “I’m not aware of any details and I’m not aware of the whole situation.” “We all agree there are situations much, much more important than football, this will never change.” “And situations like war are much more important.”
H concluded by saying the role of Mr. Abramovich is not for him to comment on, because he simply doesn’t know enough about it. There have been some reports that he has attempted to mediate peace talks between Ukraine and Russia.
Tuchel was questioned on the issue and he said “listen, listen, listen- you have to stop. I am not a politician,” he raged. “You have to stop, honestly. I can only repeat(it’s horrible). And I even feel bad to repeat it because I never experienced war.”
“So even to talk about it I feel bad because I am very privileged. I sit here in peace and I do the best I can, but you have to stop asking me these questions. I have no answers for you.”
