Chelsea a late goal to beat ten men West Ham United 1-0 in the English Premier League. Christian Pulisic scored the late winner as Chelsea earned a 1-0 victory over David Moyes’s men to end the Blues’ awful record at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea thought they were heading towards a goalless draw when Italian midfielder Jorginho tucked an awful penalty straight into the hands of West Ham United goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski’s clutches with five minutes remaining.
Christian Pulisic slotted home from inside the area on the dot 90 minutes after he was set up by Marcos Alonso. The result solidified the Blue’s place in the top four and ended a run of three home defeats in a row. West Ham United missed the chance to leapfrog Manchester United in the fifth position following the defeat.
The North London derby started on a very good note with both teams looking for the back of the net. They played out a goalless draw in the first 45 minutes of the game. The opening looked like it was coming in the second half when West Ham defender Dawson was shown a straight red card for holding back Romelu Lukaku Jorginho missed the penalty but Pulisic later put one through to help Chelsea win their first home game in a long time.
