Tiemoue Bakayoko will return to Chelsea after a year spent in AC Milan.
Bakayoko told L’Equipe: “My future? Yes, I will go back to Chelsea. I still have a three-year contract. I have no choice. I don’t know what will happen after that, but I have to go back to Chelsea. It is the only thing I know.”
On the possibility of playing for PSG, the Frenchman said: “Yes, for sure, one day I would like to play in Paris. I cannot lie about it. It’s big for me and my loved ones. We are real Parisians.”
His brother and agent Abdoulaye, added that they were not short of interest in the midfielder. He was insistent that for now, their focus is on Chelsea.
“We receive phone calls every day. It’s due to his good season this year in Milan. But we must think about the best project. And for now, the best project in Chelsea. He knows we are at home. You just have to start the season as well as you can and see what it’s like. But that does not stop us from listening to the proposals.”
Chelsea will likely have to start their FIFA-imposed transfer ban this summer, which boosts Bakayoko’s chances of getting minutes for the west London outfit.
The 24-year-old has a long way to win over Chelsea’s supporters following his bad first season at the club. He has already risked antagonizing fans with his latest comments about a future move to PSG.
