The Chelsea Football Club of England is the biggest winner in the FIFA Award 2021.
The award held on Monday night in Zurich, Switzerland, saw the Chelsea Men and Women team beneficiaries of the best awards for the year.
The award saw Edouard Mendy claim the best goalkeeper of the year, beating ‘Lev Yashin’ Ballon d’Or award winner Gianluigi Donnarumma and Manuel Neuer, who are 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel also took the Best Manager award after his historic Champions league win a year after losing the final to Bayern Munich with his Paris Saint Germaine side.
Thomas Tuchel beat Belgium Roberto Mancini and Manchester City Pep Guardiola to the award.
His counterpart from the Chelsea Women team, Emma Hayes, was also recognised as the best female manager for 2021.
Emma Hayes led her Chelsea side to a domestic treble while having an excellent run to the Women Champions League final, which they lost to Barcelona Femme.
Chelsea Midfielders Ngolo Kante and Jorginho were both recognised in the FIFA FIFPro Men’s World11 for 2021, while their female defensive duo Millie Bright and Magdalene Eriksson completed the FIFA FIFPro Women’s World11 2021.
