Chelsea Ends Bruno’s Unbeaten Run With United

Manchester United Unbeaten Run Finally Ended by Chelsea

It was a horrible day for Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea as he allowed two goals from Chelsea to end United’s FA Cup final hope with Arsenal. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer dropped his usual FA Cup keeper Sergio Romero to keep faith with De Gea but the experienced Spain international produced two horrendous errors either side of half-time to gift Chelsea two goals.

De Gea made a flimsy attempt to deal with Olivier Giroud’s flick in first-half stoppage time minutes after Eric Bailey was stretched out of the stadium through a head injury. De Gea made another error just a few minutes into the second half, he weakly fumbled Mason Mount’s tame 20-yard shot into the net to make the scores 2-0.

Chelsea’s excellent performance fully merited this victory and United’s abject misery after a dreadful performance was complete when captain Harry Maguire diverted Marcos Alonso’s cross into his own net at the near post with 16 minutes left. Bruno Fernandes who has not lost a game since joining United was able to score a consolation for United throughs penalty after Callum Hudson-Odoi fouled Anthony Martial in the penalty box. The game ended 3-1 in favour of Chelsea thanks to Giroud, Mount and David de Gea.

Chelsea will now play Arsenal in the Final as Manchester United focus on the English Premier League as Tottenham has helped then put Leicester City to the fifth-place position after they won. United have West Ham to play and if they win they will go fourth place in the league table and be left with one game which will be against Leicester City in the last game of the league.
