Frank Lampard has endured a rough start with Chelsea team securing just five points from expected twelve points. The Chelsea team has really not been up and doing since the beginning of the season. The Blues will be traveling to the Molineux Stadium on Saturday to face Nuno Espirito Santo side.
Both teams have had a disappointing start of the season. The two teams have a combined record of just a single win in their overall eight games played this season so far. Chelsea is the side with the upper hand as they have recorded at least a win in their last four games, unlike Wolves who seats in the 17th position with three points.
Wolverhampton won Chelsea in their last encounter by 2-1. The challenges faced by the team can be traced to the fact that they have been battling with Europe qualifiers. According to the manager, he believes his team are back and are focused on the present competition which is the EPL. They will be playing without Willy Bolly who is on suspension for the Red card he received from his game.
Wolves have been unbeaten at Molineux in their last 10 Premier League games, winning six and drawing four. This run is their longest in the top-flight since October 1979. They last enjoyed a longer run between April 1971 and February 1972 (18 matches). They are hoping to grab their first EPL win against Chelsea in the weekend.
Chelsea has been struggling to maintain a perfect flawless season since the departure of Eden Hazard. They only manage to win one game since the beginning of the season and they have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last four games. And the defensive line has not really been the defense to bank on.
Chelsea Battles with Injury
Frank Lampard side is battling with a massive injury crisis as five of their key players are nursing injuries. Antonio Rudiger and Pedro are the only players close to returning alongside Hudson-Odoi, although it seems too soon to resume. Mateo Kovacic has an Achilles injury, Loftus-Check will not be returning this month, Kante could also returning to the starting IX too.
The clash could get Lampard’s side a perfect chance to find their way back into the mid-table as they maintain the 11th position with seven points behind League leaders, Liverpool.
Wolverhampton team is a scoring side and Tammy Abraham of Chelsea has found his scoring boots, so it won’t be a bad idea to bet on both teams to score.
