Top English Premier side Chelsea has opened negotiations with Spanish La Liga Sevilla’s player Jules Kounde to sign the player. According to reports, the European champions have made a move for the Sevilla and France defender, but no further details have been revealed about the player’s interest in the English Premier League side.
Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says the Frenchman is the Blues main centre-back target.
Kounde is said to want Champions League football, and Sevilla is not a sure team compared to the European champions. It is most likely the French international will accept the deal as negotiations are currently ongoing.
Chelsea is not the only club in search of the player, follow English Premier League side Manchester United is also interested in the 22-year-old, but since United have reached an agreement with Raphael Varane, United might push for the deal again.
Manchester United followed his performance in the just concluded Euro 2020, where he covered as a right-back for France that left the competition in the round of 16. Kounde returned to Sevilla pre-season training this week. Chelsea is currently leading the chase as they are willing to add Hakim Ziyech to the deal to make it a swap deal.
