Catholic church arguably recognised as one of the first in the history of Christianity around the world, yet, a very shocking revelation has emerged from the secret activities of the ancient fellowship in France.
While it’s no news that the priests in the past have been accused of sexually molesting young boys from ages ten to thirteen, a piece of recent evidence documented in a report shows that the clergy-members have slept with over two-hundred thousand boys (200,000).
The new investigation conducted within a couple of years revealed that these atrocities have been ongoing without the world knowing in the last seventy years.
According to the report that disseminated this information today, the investigation, carried out by an independent commission, also disclosed that the worship ground in the recent past succeeded in hiding the secrets from leaving the church.
Also, the commission’s report, released after ‘a two-and-half-year investigation, showed about 216,000 minors were sexually abused since 1950 by Catholic clergymen in France.’
The commission also exposed that until the early 2000s, victims of these crimes hardly ever received any sympathising or reparations from the church’s administration.
Head of the commission, Jean-Marc Sauve, who compiled the report at a Paris news conference, revealed that child abuse exposed by church members and teachers of Catholic schools increased to 330,000.
The report stated that the Bishops in the various regions set up the investigating commission in 2018 to unveil the numerous child sexual molestations within the period.
