Former Nollywood actress Caroline Hutchins has opened up on her divorce from billionaire husband Musa Danjuma for the very first time.
Caroline shared her experience dealing with her 2016 divorce from her husband on her Instagram page while she shared a screenshot of a tweet that read, “I know your divorce tore your identity apart. It checked you into an emotional prison. You are not your marriage. Your marriage failed. You didn’t fail.”
The mother of three said her divorce from Musa made her feel like a failure while continuously blaming herself for not making a perfect marriage.
She noted that she only began to heal and understood that she was not a failure because her marriage failed.
Caroline wrote, “I blamed myself for not making a perfect marriage, I blamed myself for both faults of ours until I started healing then I knew I was not a failure.
She continued, “I prayed to God for assistance, most importantly to forgive myself and him. Rather than hate the outcome of what was, I chose love and peace of mind for what is.
Caroline said she dealt with hurtful words from friends and strangers who mocked her despite not knowing what led to the divorce.
“God whispered, I am with you, and that was it. My journey to finding me began, and I never looked back. I came, I saw, I conquered ☺️, most importantly I have found my lost identity.
“Healed, restored, unprovoked, loving and blessed, thanks to @lanreolusola, who spoke through the words in the Bible to help me find my way.
She also noted that some are better off as friends than lovers while advising anyone going through tough times to see a professional counsellor.
“You ain’t mad you need clarification. It is ok to fail and rise again. Let God lead you.
“No hate but love always. Accept your faults forgive the other, and move on in peace ❤️❤️.
