Former Manchester City and Manchester United striker Argentine star Carlos Tevez lost has lost his father to coronavirus. Tevez withdrew from Boca Juniors’ game against Newell’s Old Boys because of the sad news.
Carlos Tevez has returned to the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires to mourn his late dad. The father has been battling with the virus for some time before he finally gave up the ghost recently.
It is less than 48 hours after the sad news of the death of the mother of ex-Barcelona and AC Milan star player Ronaldinho that this tragic news is coming in.
It was gathered that Carlos Tevez’s father, dad Segundo Raimundo Tevez had survived coronavirus before, but it reportedly led to further health complications.
The former Juventus player’s club, Boca, confirmed the sad news as they tweeted: “Boca Juniors mourns the death of Don Segundo, Carlos’ father, and are thinking of the Tevez family and their friends at this time of so much pain and sadness, stay strong!”
He recently had surgery on his neck before he was later diagnosed with the coronavirus. The Former Juventus striker said he told his children their grandad would not recover. He said it is a very difficult time for both him and his whole family.
He concluded by saying he has won 29 titles in his career, but this one is very difficult.
