Carlo Ancelotti who guided Chelsea to a Premier League and FA Cup double in 2009-10 will face them in the Uefa Champions League semi-finals and the club has reported that they have covid cases. Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel says he hopes Carlo Ancelotti “makes it” to Stamford Bridge to take charge of Real Madrid for Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final first leg as he did not travel with his boys to London for Wednesday clash.

Carlo Ancelotti Hopeful to Present Negative Covid Result

Real Madrid head coach Ancelotti did not travel to London with his team because he tested positive for Covid. Speaking about it Chelsea’s manager said: “It’s always much better and nicer to be there and have direct influence.” “I have the information he will try to arrive in the evening.”

Carlo Ancelotti, 62, missed Real Madrid’s 2-1 win over Celta Vigo in La Liga last Saturday after Real confirmed that he had tested positive for coronavirus on 30 March. However, the Italian, who also guided Chelsea to a Premier League and FA Cup double in 2010, is still hopeful he can return a negative test result which would allow him to attend the game.

The Chelsea manager said he is sure the Italian can it to London and do the team talks and be in touch with his players. He also said the manager is a big coach and a big personality too and so, it would be nice to have him on the sideline in these kinds of games.

Thomas Tuchel said to see their players playing while they stand by the sideline is what most coaches like and they can constantly communicate with the players not just with words but also with a smile, a hug, and all that.
