The remains of three police officers and a soldier suspected to have been killed by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) last week have been recovered by the Rivers State Police Command.
This was disclosed by the state Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan, during a tour of police facilities in the State.
According to Mukan, the officers were hacked to death by the IPOB members and he disclosed that the “DPO of Oyigbo Police Station escaped by a whisker.”
Mukan told newsmen that an investigation has commenced on the incident, promising that the command would do everything to ensure that those involved in the dastardly act were punished.
In his words, “Comprehensive investigation is still in progress; most of the vehicles you see here are brought by civilians for safe keeping. Unfortunately, they got burnt.”
