Burna Boy Reveals Similarity With Wizkid

Nigerian singer and Grammy Award winner Damini Ogulu, also known as Burna Boy, has finally reacted to speculations making the rounds that he is competing with another Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid.

The singer, who crowned himself as African Giant, noted that Wizkid and himself are on different lanes, hence shutting the rumour that he is competing with the Soko crooner, adding that they love each other.

In a video culled from a recent live broadcast with DJ Whookid, an American–Haitian Hip Hop disc jockey, Burna Boy said he never sees Wizkid as a competition, aside from the fact that they are from the same country, Nigeria.

In the video seen by EveryEvery.ng, DJ Whookid asked Burna Boy if he sees Wizkid as a competition, especially when nominated for the same awards. He shut down the speculations by stating that he does not perceive the singer as a threat or a competition.

EveryEvery.ng had reported that Burna Boy revealed what he termed the secret behind the Grammy Awards he won recently. He said his parents asked him to win the Grammy, adding that they prayed for excellent children and not houses or cars. 

According to the singer, a sacrifice made it possible for him to win the Award. Burna, who took to his Instagram page to show off his Grammy Awards, revealed that one of his sisters, stellar graduated with first class in Finance, while the other got a distinction in Engineering.

Meanwhile, many of his fans and colleagues in the music industry took to the comment section to congratulate him on the receipt of the Grammy Awards; they described the Award as a well-deserved reward for his hard work, consistency and talent.

You will recall that for the first time in his music career, the singer won Best Global Music Album for Twice As Tall at the Premiere Ceremony of the 63rd Grammy Awards.
