The Federal Government has announced that President Muhammadu Buhari would on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, formally rollout the National Gas Expansion Programme.

This was contained in a statement signed by Garba Deen Muhammad, the Special Assistant to Minister of State for Petroleum,

The Programme is expected to target the delivery of One Million vehicle conversions (from petrol/diesel to autogas) by the end of 2021.

However, Muhammad said the event would herald the Nigeria’s clean energy transition and formal dispensing of autogas products at two NNPC retail stations.

He added that the rollout is the culmination of the resolve of the President Buhari-led administration to deepen domestic usage of natural gas in its various forms.

It was gathered that the programme is in line with the government’s plan to make gas the first choice source of cheaper and cleaner energy for Nigerians in their personal and industrial endeavours.
