A coalition of Civil Society Organizations has threatened severe action against the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, over Inaction regarding insecurity in the country.
These CSOs have warned that they will work with the National Assembly, and make President Buhari to face Impeachment process if he fails to act concerning the growing spate of insecurity in the country.
Among this coalition are BudgiT Foundation, Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), Youth Initiative for Advocacy, Growth & Advancement (YIAGA), as well as others, who are moving for President Buhari to face impeachment.
Mr Jaiye Gaskia, of the United Action for Democracy, delivered this brief for the entire coalition of CSOs. He vehemently condemned reports of alleged payment of an N800 million ransom to bandits to secure the release of abducted Nigerians; he also condemned the statement made by the Defense minister that Nigerians should learn to defend themselves.

Gaskia sstated when a president fails in his constitutional responsibilities, he should step aside, or the National Assembly initiates impeachment proceedings against him, as provided for in the constitution.
Gaskia further stated that the CSOs were urging the government to seek international assistance in the fight against terrorists and so-called bandits.
