Following Manchester City’s victory over Manchester United, their assistant skipper Bruno Fernandes has come out to speak on the performance of the players. The Portuguese international said United players need to “look in the mirror” because they are “not at the same level” as their Manchester City counterparts.
The defeat was Manchester United’s fourth Premier League defeat in six games and it has increased pressure on boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his players.
According to Bruno Fernandes, he said: “We have to speak less and do more,” He also said: “I am saying the same stuff. We have to change because this has happened many, many times already. What we did was not enough.” “If we want to be at the same level as them we have to do more because they showed we are not at the same level,” Fernandes added.
“Everyone has to look at themselves. You have to look in the mirror at what you are doing wrong. You cannot change the mentality of anyone else, you have to look at yourself and understand what you can do better.”
The player said last week when they played against Tottenham Hotspur it looked like they have made a step forward but the result today now looks otherwise. Bruno Fernandes admitted that the team is not doing well and they need to come out like a wounded animal following all the defeat they have received in the past four weeks.
He said the players also feel pained when they lose a game and made it known that there is nothing sweeter than winning a game as a footballer so the loses is first a disappointment to them before the fans. Their next game is against Watford and he has said they We have to come out against Watford like a proper, hurt animal.
